Clinical consultation and supervision services
Clinical consultation
Are you wondering how to best serve your clients who have complex medical conditions and disabilities? Are you looking for recommended reading and other resources for and/or about your clients who live with chronic pain? Did your client say they were “out of spoons,” and you have no idea what that means? Or maybe your client asked you to fill out forms so they can get disability accommodations at work, take medical leave, or apply for disability benefits, and you have no idea where to begin. Consider scheduling a consultation to get support.
I’m passionate about raising awareness of how ableism, sexism, racism, fatphobia, and various other systems of oppression affect our clients and about inspiring therapists to actively work to dismantle those systems. When our clients tell us this is happening, we need to believe them.
I have been doing this work as a clinical social worker since 2016, and I have a lifetime of experience (40+ years) as a medically complex/chronically ill/disabled person. Over the years, I’ve worked with many clients who have unexplained chronic pain and/or other chronic illness symptoms, as well as list of medical conditions too long to include here. Feel free to ask about the specific medical condition(s) when requesting a consultation; however, it’s likely I can help even if I don’t have experience with that particular diagnosis.
To request an appointment for clinical consultation, click here. Please do not include detailed, personal information about your client in the email. Consultations are offered online via Zoom (the HIPAA-compliant version), and payment is accepted via PayPal: $190 for 50 minutes or $95 for 25 minutes. I can provide consultation to therapists anywhere in the U.S. For scheduling purposes, please note that I am located on the west coast (PST).
Clinical supervision in Washington state
If you’re also passionate about dismantling systems of oppression, we could be a good fit for supervision. I’m an eclectic therapist, taking what works from several modalities and leaving the rest. I’m a feminist therapist, which means that I believe the personal is political and that I’m committed to identifying power imbalances—and eliminating them whenever possible.
The supervisor holds a lot of power over the supervisee. Even the kindest, gentlest supervisor still has that power, and it's important for me to acknowledge this imbalance upfront and keep it in mind as we go along. As a feminist supervisor, I want to collaborate with you so that you're empowered to participate equally in our work together. I'll absolutely help you learn, but I don't want this to feel like school or a performance review. If you're looking for something really structured, with tons of worksheets and formal case presentations, I won't be a good fit for you. But if you want to feel deeply supported while doing the incredibly important yet challenging work of bringing social justice into your therapy practice, I'd love to hear from you.
I provide individual supervision, offered online via secure video, for clinical social workers seeking licensure in Washington state. Click here to request a free initial 15-minute Zoom meeting to confirm we’re a good fit for each other. If we decide to work together, we’ll continue to meet online via Zoom (the HIPAA-compliant version); all documentation and payments will be managed through SimplePractice. My supervision rate is $190 per hour, with an agreement to meet at least two hours per month—if I will be your primary supervisor. Already have a supervisor and looking for extra hours? We can be more flexible with how often we meet; let’s talk! If at any point we decide we’re not a good fit, I’ll give you the names of some other supervisors I think you’ll like.
